My mom was unique in her own way. This is obvious to everyone, being unique and all. It's what makes us individuals. I can say she loved my sister's and I, she lived life her way. The last time I seen her was when she gave me a ride to the airport to go to northern Europe, Sandnessjøen, Norway and I made sure to give her a good hug and kiss, she was admitted to the hospital as I was underway in route back to the USA. The doctors found cancer, my sister was able to help her to start chemo, but her body was not strong enough to continue and passed away as I was in transit through the Bermuda Triangle. Before she died I apologized to her for being such a difficult child, and she apologized to me for being a difficult mom, I made sure she knew I was proud of her for being the best mom that she was able to be. If things could've gone differently they would have. Not everyone has the privilege of having a mom in their life, and I am grateful for what I got. God knows we're not perfect, we can only play the cards we get. Sometimes we say things not quite how we planned, while this can be beneficial and other times not so, that's how life is. We take the good and bad to make an experience of it, and hope it all works.
In the span of my life with her, I missed 6 years of it because I was such a bad kid she had to send me away to live with my dad's family. I would have done the same if I was her. She made the right choice. That's a big part of what life is about, making choices, and hoping you make the right one. Did she always make the right choice, no, but no mortal ever has. As a generally good person, throughout her life, she was a daughter, sister, aunt, a mom, wife, a single mom, a grandma, a great grandma, pet owner, a hard worker with overall good ethics at heart, believed in God, and hoped for goodness to all. She loved gardening, and enjoyed life. She use to make candies during the holidays. She took us to family picnics, on road trips, camping trips, when with my dad to Key West, Walt Disney World, and to movies like Star Wars, and as a single mom helped me with Halloween costumes, took us to other amusement parks like Geauga Lake & Sea World, Walt Disney Land in California, Cleveland 500 Grand Prix races, Fairport Harbour Mardi Gras, she gave us so many good memories. She loved her mom, dad and step mother, her sister and brother, her aunts and uncles, cousins and friends, and dogs aka "Twisted Sisters" Maddie & Chloe, I'm sure she considered many as her adopted kids, and loved them too. She will be greatly missed here on Earth as we continue our journey. I'm sure I missed something. God bless her and God bless all of you...
